“Let’s get a little crazy here.” ~ Bob Ross
Man, I love this quote by Bob Ross.
It’s a gentle reminder that play – going a little crazy with whatever you’re working on – is important.
As an artist, as a parent, as an employee, as a business owner, as whatever you are at any given moment, it’s easiest to play things safe.
To not take chances.
To not risk failure.
Because why would you add a swish of purple to an “already fine” painting and risk ruining it?
Why take a chance on a new business venture when you have a “comfortable” job with benefits?
Why switch majors in college when you’ve chosen a “safe” career path?
Why add pineapple to a pizza, or upgrade your vehicle rental from “mid-size” to “sports car?”
Maybe, just maybe getting a *little* crazy here is exactly what’s called for.
Maybe it’s time to play – just enough.
Maybe *just enough* play will give you courage to step out and try something new, see something differently, go in an unexpected direction.
Go ahead. Get a little crazy here. See what happens.
